Robert

If anyone had asked me a few years ago if I would ever be a missionary, I would have laughed. Not out of disrespect for the position or of low self-esteem, but due to the fact that I was just enjoying, so very much, the ministry that God had placed us in. We served as Student minister for nearly 11 years and I felt like that could be my lifelong call. But, God decided differently.

I was invited to come and speak at a camp here in the Philippines the Spring of 2001. I prayerfully accepted and the rest, you could say, is history. We have heard these stories of powerful calls to mission fields and ministries over and over, each one a little more spectacular. Though I am certain that God has called us here to Cebu, our call is not as important as the One who has called us and what He has called us to do! It is with great conviction and dependence on our Awesome God that we invite you to prayerfully join us in the mission that He has set before us.

Go…
       Preach…
                     Baptize…
                                    Teach…
                                            and I will be with

                                                          you always….

Connie

I spent most of my childhood in and around the Houston area. Having faithful Christian parents, I was raised going to church all my life. It was through G.M.A.'s at church where I felt God calling me to have a special place in His ministry. I knew that one day God was going to send me a help mate that would have the same calling.

My church in Channelview encouraged the college bound students to go to Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Texas. I never knew that going there would change my life...one that would lead to ministry and missions.

Hearing the heart of a certain young blond guy named Robert Murphy, I knew that God was preparing us to spend the rest of our lives together in His service. After graduating JBC, we soon married and began a new life in Tyler, Texas as student ministers at New Harmony Baptist Church.

In 10 years, God had brought us through 3 different youth ministries with wonderful students and wonderful staff. Each church played a hand in our being where we are today. God also blessed us with two wonderful, life-filled boys. Together, we have been called into the mission field of the Philippine Islands.

Jamin

Hi! My name is Jamin Murphy.
I was 5 years old when we moved as a family to the Philippines in September of 2002. I had no idea what it meant to live in another country, but I love my life here as a MK (missionary kid).

My brother and I enjoy life and enjoy playing with our friends, especially our homeschool co-op friends. My favorite things to do: play baseball (first base is my favorite position), Nintendo DSi, computer games, Playstation2 or my Xbox 360, riding bikes and riding my skateboard. I also enjoy writing stories, but only stories that I make up. You will find tons of notebooks in my closet full of stories that flood my brain. If only I could have a story flood my brain when my mom ask for a story in school! I am homeschooled (using Abeka dvd curriculum) and am about to start the 8th grade.  I love living here in Cebu, though I miss the states alot too. I love having teams come from the states, and stay in our home! If you would like to contact me, I have an email: jmm@cebuanomissions.org or you can contact me on my Facebook page (just look up my name).

Jesse

Hi! My name is Jesse Murphy. I was 3 years old when we moved as a family to the Philippines in September of 2002.

I have spent most of my life here and I call the Philippines my home (my first home). I am glad that God told my Dad and Mom to come here.

Jamin and I like the same things, but of the two of us, I am a big ham, and love to sing and play on my Baby Taylor guitar. My love for the guitar started out with Guitar Hero, but now I'm playing acoustic, electric and bass. I absorb everything that is being shown me, and can't live without my guitar! I enjoy being around my co-op friends, and also enjoy playing sports. Baseball and basketball are my favorites right now, but Dad said if we lived in the states, I'd probably be playing football as well. Oh yeah...I am about to start on my 6th grade work in Abeka. If you would like to email me, you can email me at: jrm@cebuanomissions.org or Facebook me! (just look up my name).
